Jocelyn Garcia-Thome began her career as a school psychologist, and has held administrative positions in multiple school districts. She is currently a K-5 principal at a public charter school, passionate about public education and supporting families with special needs.
Mid-career, Ms. Garcia-Thome spent ten years in industry working for both Hewlett-Packard and IBM, where she managed education and community relations, including work on the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) technological literacy standards.
Ms. Garcia-Thome received her BA in Psychology and her MS in School Psychology from San Jose State University. She also serves on the board of Industry Initiatives for Science and Math Education (IISME), a unique program that addresses the need for a highly skilled workforce in math, science and technological fields by placing teachers in 8-week paid internships with San Francisco Bay Area businesses.
